July 30th - Quarterly Awards Ceremony FEWarren AFB

Yes, this afternoon we attended the quarterly awards ceremony at the air force base. As usual it was a moving experience. I am an honorary commander for the support services squadron, last year it was the 90th med group. I must say that the msg took the majority of the awards! yay for them!

We just finished Cheyenne Frontier Days, the 'Daddy of 'em All', where we had the largest crowds since 1997, which was the 100th birthday. You can google it, or go to
http://cfdrodeo.com/ to read all about it. In a 10 day period there are 4 long parades, 3 free pancake breakfasts, Wind River Dancers, rodeo's, night shows (George Strait, Taylor Swift, Sawyer Brown, etc.) All in all a crazy 10 days that are a lot of fun! There is a huge carnival midway too, so there is things to do for all ages. The population of Cheyenne doubles for about 15 days...and the start up is when they run the steers/cows/calves right down Interstate 25! It is really something to see! We are pretty glad that the madness is over for another year :)

We're headed to the mountain for the weekend...and maybe until next Wed, since it's going to be very hot here next week. I'll not have internet on the mountain so won't be posting for a couple days.

Have a super day wherever you are and whatever you're doing!

July 29th

Not a lot to report today - work for me and David has spent the day cleaning carpets, scheduling appointments, etc. so pretty normal.

We're headed to the local 'Moose' club tonight for dinner - we have made some great friends there and the price is always right - the two of us eat for less than $10!

Our house is still on the market, so if you know of anyone looking for a house in Cheyenne, WY, send me a comment, I'd love to show them mine :) I'm not as familiar with blogs as I should be, can I put a website on it??? I'm going to try...http://www.propertyex.com/pages/cheyenne-wyoming-real-estate-search.html put in 175,000 to 185,000 and look at 1014 W 27th St. That's my home, and we have just finished restoring much of it - take the virtual tour...

All for now - see you in the funny papers!

July 28th - Dawn's on her way to PA

Today is a bag of mixed emotions for me. My daughter from Japan has been in the states for a couple weeks, and today leaves the Alabama area and is flying in to see my parents for 3 days. They are 80 and 81, and July 30th is their 60th Wedding Anniversary. I would so love to be there also, to see them and spend some time with Dawn, but it is not to be. I did have a Happy 60th Anniversary ad placed in their local paper, the Somerset Daily American, so I'm hoping they enjoy that.

We have enjoyed having her in the states so we were able to just pick up the phone and call her! Japan is 18 hours time difference, and that takes some getting used to!

I woke up ill this morning at 2 am, some type of stomach bug. I called off work (2nd time in 5 years) so that was a big deal. About lunch time I started feeling better, so we took the MH to the visitor's center and dumped, then gassed up and had a bite of lunch at Flying J. There was no 'regular' gas, only premium, so that cost us an extra $15.00, and lunch was...let's just say that it will be awhile before we visit again!

One of the things we did to get ready to go full time is that we removed our couch that pulled out into a full sized bed. It never got used for anything except a place to throw coats, bags, etc. We have replaced it with a desk that we love. Everyone needs a desk (because in this day and age you must have proof of everything!) and we freed up lots of space for other things!

July 27th - First Post

This is the very first post in our brand new blog. I'm very excited about this, and I'll be doing an about page for us soon.

Please have patience while I get the hang of this :)
